Even if they looked at an object, participants did not remember the object. Norman (1988: tend to occur in the absence of attention, we are not thinking when we do things automatically (e. g. calling the wrong person on the phone, putting milk in the cupboard, types of action slips. Capture error: occurs when some sequence of events is similar to a highly practiced set of events: e. g. a hockey player who stops on roller skates. Data-driven error: occurs when external events cause the inappropriate activation of a schema: something in your environment triggers a schema that causes a behaviour you did not intend.
