Jackson pollock: pollock"s autumn rhythm 30 of abstract expressionism is an action painting. Action painting, in abstract art, is the spontaneous and uninhibited application of paint, as practiced by the avant-garde from the 1930s through the 1950s. The term action painting was termed by the art critic harold rosenberg. The artist placed the canvas on the floor and worked from the sides. The painting reflects great energy and movement in the application of paint. Re-presenting life and dissecting painting: rauschenberg"s the bed of pop art is a combine. Combine is the label rauschenberg gave to his paintings that combined painting, sculpture, collage, and found objects. Andy warhol: warhol"s campbell soup cans (polymer paint and silkscreen) depicts a series of 32 soup cans. Warhol"s works were made in his studio called the factory . Assistants made the works to his specifications using silkscreen. Warhol gave the illusion that he barely touched his paintings.
