Aggressive vs. withdrawn: physical vs. relationship. Hitting vs. rumour starting: instrumental vs. reactive. Instigator vs. behaviour in response to the other. Ex: name the three kids that nobody likes. What is bullying: behaviour that is harmful, or intended to be, repeated over time, imbalance of power. Our solution: improving social skills of the victim. What it takes to be a leader. The importance of similarity: improving social skills. Engaging in parallel play and collaborative play: parenting styles, peer relations (bullying) Socioeconomic status: difference experiences in pre-school years, differences in school quality. Wechsler intelligence scale for children: verbal scale, performance scale. Flynn effect: low ses- environment, high ses- genetic. Sternberg: 3 types of intelligence: analytical, primarily measured in university, practical, street smarts, creative, thinking outside the box, seeing things in different ways; involving arts. Gardner: multiple intelligences: verbal, math, spatial, musical, bodily/kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic.
