We lose it once we are dead (mind is responsible for making a thinking being) Descartes establishes his existence as a mind that has certain ideas, and can reflect on them. The existence of god as eternal/omnipotent, and is the source of some ideas in descartes" mind (cid:523)including the idea of god(cid:524)
