I was at an extended complex care facility which heightened my emotions even more and made me question if i was apt to provide adequate care for my patients. This event occurred at around 8:30 a. m. as i was instructed by the nurse i was shadowing to assess the vital signs of a patient. This was my very first patient of the day so i grabbed a vitals machine and approached the patient"s room. I knew walking in alone into the patient"s room was the very first step in accumulating a learning experience i could gradually build upon. But, i did not know then all i had to do was get a little closer, and familiarize myself with the patient according to his needs. I felt very anxious and even lost because i was confident walking into the setting ready to implement the knowledge i had acquired from class but at that moment i instantly went blank.
