NSE11 Chapter Notes - Chapter 4: George Brown College, Preetha Vijayakumar, General Idea
Document Summary
Running head: fighting racism in cuba and brazil. Latin america is one of many unique parts of the world that shares a diverse racial mix. Racial identities among latin america are uniquely constructed but the national identity one nation holds is usually dependent on the superior race of that nation. The tension that exists between hierarchy and inequality is what shapes the different classifications of race. Racial boundaries within latin american countries exist to prevent any form of growth for someone who is part of an inferior race. Racial thinking and practice has and continues to develop over time and no country till this day has successfully fought and eradicated racism. But, some countries have claimed that they have demolished racism and see every citizen of their country to be equal which in fact is somewhat true in terms that countries are trying to eliminate racism but have not completely.
