There are hundreds of new tests- as long as people will be paid for the use of their tests, new ones will keep coming out. Most new tests stem from the theories of more established tests, but are maybe more sound and are psychometrically better. The proliferation of nontraditional tests is related to two other trends: reflects the increasing role of science of psychology in testing, efforts are being made to integrate tests with other aspects of applied psychology.
