Psy345: we are really confident we do things better today than before, we have legislation to guarantee the rights of people with disabilities, but we"re not quite where we"d like to be. Where everybody has personhood/citizenship/equal access to everything society has to offer: freak show. Freak something that doesn"t fit with society, it"s provocative. People are willing to pay to go see it. Anything that is really different in such a way that people are going to pay to see them. Don"t allow them unfair to take advantage of someone"s misery and pay to see someone else"s misfortune. At least individuals were able to make a living. Employment: today, not allowing them to work. Replaced it with a disability pension: doesn"t work, lives at home, prevents them from being just like everyone else. Still have other freak shows on tv.
