Document Summary

The folly of rewarding a, while hoping for b. After reading the examples in the article i thought the folly that i found everyday would be the dynamics and reward system of group work. Teachers put students into groups for them to get to know their peers better, complete work more efficiently and learn real life teamwork skills. This folly has arisen because students are often over scheduled and have little time to plan around multiple peoples schedules as well because some students have personality types where they obsess over completing perfect assignments at all costs. Over time students have just silently agreed to let someone take over the group and complete the bulk of the work as it is usually the quickest way to a good grade.
