Everyday life shows how concerned each of us is to discover for ourselves, beyond mere opinions how things really are. The truth of these values is to be found not by turning in on oneself but by opening oneself to apprehend that truth even at levels which transcend the person. The first absolutely certain truth of our life, beyond the fact that we exist, is the inevitability of our death. Every truth if it really is truth- presents itself as universal, even if it is not the whole truth. What inspires all of these is the desire to reach the certitude of truth and the certitude of its absolute value.
