Cultureal social world is running along there are certain rules in our culture, body is running according to rules and the mind is and they combine to produce full blown emotion. Is there a continuity of instinct from animal world to human world. Freud is building bridges between organic system and noetic system. When you"re a kid you have fundamental needs, as an adult you have same need of acquisition but object changes. Freud is beginning with a biological model, founded in the animal world, and how the organism functions. There is no flexibility with instincts they are wired in. Emotions and feelings have a lot more flexibility built in in comparison with instinct. The stimulus that interacts can change over time, we"re not caught in an instinctual world. Instincts are hard wired and narrowly defined, emotions are liberated instincts.
