Trained to response to wrongdoings, responsible/have authority to react. Required/beneficial traits, some traits developed because of the role: suspicion, pessimism, cynicism, loyalty, solidarity, secretiveness. Tendency to want to feel close to a group, sense of common identity. Secretiveness within group when sharing information, feeling misunderstood by outsiders, creates suspicious outsiders. View of humanity that everyone would be a criminal if they could (cynicism) creates a pessimistic outlook on society: authoritarianism, conservatism, prejudice.
