Document Summary

Evolution: change of gene frequency from one population to the other. Natural selection is a non-random process; it is the environment that is selecting for particular traits. Creationism: evolution is something that doesn"t exist, and all the variation we se today is a process of god. This is good for religion is still process that can be blended with the god creation . Point mutation: change in one of the bases (atacgat = aacgat) changing the codon and the protein that the codon is responsible for producing. This is a random process that produces new variation. Mutation changes phenotype of bacteria, making it more resistance to antibiotics. Genetic drift will reduce genetic variation within a population, but it will increase the genetic variation among the population. Population: all the individuals of a particular species within a defined geographic area. There are two types of drifts: founder"s effect, bottleneck effect.
