Power knowledge truth: those who have power have the ability to produce knowledge and because they are experts their knowledge is taken as truth. Lobbyists put forward claims for same-sex marriage: what is important is what is taken as truth, power is everywhere and no where, power is embodied, something people exercise, its relational. Where there is power, there is resistance. Heterosexism, racism, classism, sexism, cissexism, agism, abilism, nationalism, etc: systems of oppression that privilege particular groups of people through everyday practices, attitudes, behaviors, ad institutions. Each has the ability to control and destroy lives. Social constructionism examine differentiations not create them. Orientals more intelligent than whites and whites more intelligent than black. Believes that race plays a part in intelligence. Rushtin claims that asians have a larger brain size, more sexual restraint, greater intelligence, than europeans. Higher the intelligence the less likely to engage in criminal activity.
