Psycholinguistics is related to all other departments of psychology. Studying language can be broken down in 3 categories: language acquisition, language production, language comprehension. Most of the knowledge we use for language is tacit". Cognitive processes" refers to perception, memory, and thinking. Ordinary use of language" includes reading a book, writing a letter, participating in a conversation. Aphasia is a good example of the separation between cognitive and knowledge processing of language. States that a sentence consists of a chain of associations between words in the sentence.
