Diseases erupt and spread throughout the world more quickly because of increased and rapid movements of people and goods. 3 kinds of bacteria: spherical (coccus), rod shaped (bacillus), corkscrew (spirillum) Infected mosquito injects a dozen of thousands of parasites into host. Each parasite invades a liver cell, each produces thousands of offspring. Each offspring infects a red blood cell. Attach and suck blood to/of lining of small intestine lining. Distinctive symptoms: fever, weakness, loss of appetite, runny nose, tearing of eyes, rash. Transmitted through air as fine mist from infected person. Multiplies, invades white blood cells, and carried to all parts of body using bloodstream.
