Signalling cell has to reduce the signalling molecule or accumulate the signaling molecule it"s not going to make it itself. You have to send that signal and there has to be a target cell to receive and response to a signal. If you don"t have a target cell it doesn"t have a receptor the chemical can"t send the signal. If the receptor binds the chemical and does change the cell, the it"s not going to work. One cell can move from one cell to another directly. These are the key in heart muscles allow the transfer of electrical charges so the heart beats as one. Important for the ions to move to every cell. Mechanisms to remove these molecules so they cannot move around anymore. Diffusion between the signalling cell and the responding cell. If the target cell is different from the signaling cell --> paracrine signalling.
