Document Summary
Many proteins are controlled by multisite covalent modification. A complex network of protein interactions underlies cell function. Proteomics: study of all the proteins, including all the covalently modified forms of each, produced by a cell, tissue, or organisms. Proteomics often investigates changes in this larger set of proteins in the proteome - caused by change sin the environment or by extracellular signals. Sex determination in drosophila depends on a regulated series of rna splicing events. X chromosome: autosome ratio determines sxl gene product, tra gene product, and dsx gene product, al which determine sex. Cyclic-amp dependent protein kinase (pka) mediates most of the effects of cyclic. Cycic-amp-dependent protein kinase (protein kinase a, pka): enzyme that phosphorylates target proteins in response to a rise in intracellular cyclic amp. The activation of cyclic amp dependent protein kinase (pka):
