Authority shows you the kind of person you are supposed to be. In freud analysis, this is your parents; symbols of the good you". You identify it with good: mom and dad are symbols of deepest cathect in your life. Because mom is first source of love and milk in your life, she is identified with good. Introjection: process of having something inserted into your mentality.
