Document Summary

Physiology: the study of the function of the plants and animals, cell physiology, cellular and molecular processes, organismal physiology, integration and functioning of organ systems at a macroscopic level, microscopic vs. macroscopic, used together to understand and explain how organisms carry out life processes. Units to know: force = mass x acceleration, newton = kg m/sec, energy = force x distance, joule = kg m2/sec2, power = force x velocity, watt = kg m2/sec3, also j/sec, for anything that generates power, power is only generated if something has a velocity or a change in velocity, also, if you are moving the air with your muscles, there is no force (air resistance is negligible) so no power is generated, pressure = n/m2, pascal, can also use millimeters of mercury, we can use kilopascals in animals but only megapascals in plants because plants have cell walls.
