Although there is a later onset of schizophrenia in women because estrogen is believed to be a protective factor and delays onset of symptoms. 10 % of persons with schizophrenia will commit suicide. Positive symptoms can be remembered as symptoms that exist but should not and are in excess or distortion of normal function. Positive symptoms of schizophrenia include delusions and hallucinations. Delusions are false fixed beliefs that usually involve a misinterpretation of an experience. Grandiose: where the person beliefs they have exceptional powers, wealth, skill, influence, or destiny.
