Confirmation: human likeness and emotional response related as a cubic (or even a quadratic) function. Disconfirmation: human likeness and emotional response related as a linear function. Participants ranked male and female faces by attractiveness. Trying to vary human likeness without morphing it with something else. Incomplete block design: blocked by stimulus model, each ss viewed 1 male & 1 female, counter-balanced across ss. Randomized (within block): stimulus and scale order. All faces seen same number of time across participants: each participant saw each face once. No one received the same order of faces because it was randomly done.
