Earth has a strong magnetic field (both pos and neg) unlike other planets. Solar wind"s charged particles coming into our atmosphere but it is not as strong due to magnetic field. Some of these particles go through magnetosphere and close to surface creating aurorae (the lights in the sky) All planets have atmospheres(concentration of gases surrounding the planet) Earth has thicker atmosphere and contains more gasses (way more oxygen than other planets) Gravity keeps our atmosphere within 50kn of our surface.
