God told eve not to eat from the tree. The serpent convinced eve to eat, and as a result, god promised the serpent that he shall crawl on his belly and eat dirt. To eve, he promised women pain in childbirth, and for men to rule over their wives. Eve gave birth to cain (offered fruit of the ground to the lord) and abel (brought sheep from his flock) The lord did not like cain"s offering, and liked abel, so cain was very jealous of abel. Cain took abel to the field, where he killed him out of jealousy. The lord told cain that he would forever be a fugitive and a wanderer on the earth. The flood god as a destroyer as well as a creator. Tired of cursing the land he created, god looks to wipe it out, and start clean. He is not angry, just looks to start over. Men were wicked, acting cruelly, except for noah.
