Document Summary

War: economic competition and trade as the contributing factors. Before 1914 where the world war i (wwi) occurred, germany was a country that had the ability to exist as a subsistent country. However, it gradually became dependent on trade where its import exceeded its export by a large percentage and the only way for germany to balance its trade deficit was by increasing its export. This arising need, in fact, posed a problem for the germans as other markets had already been monopolized by other competing countries such as, the united states in latin america, great britain in east and south africa and south. Asia, and france in west africa, the balkans, and russia (keylor). The german lost badly during wwi and this is strongly factored by the strength of the alliance between britain, russia and france. Due to that, it had no say during the versailles. Treaty that was signed by the council of four.
