During the first 100 days in office starting in 1933, roosevelt proposed and enacted. 1st big program was called the civilian conservation corps (ccc) Ccc hired unemployed young men and sent them to rural areas and forests where they planted trees, created roads and drained swamps. Paid per month, automatically sent back home to the family. Politicians were very concerned about the growing number of young homeless men. Relief to those in danger of losing farms and homes. Biggest goal was to provide cheap power to an area with very little electricity. Cheap power brought in many businesses and factories which increased employment and made the area much wealthier. Was not a quick stimulus but instead a multi-generational transformation.
