When looking at propaganda we are really looking at how our ideologies are being used for someone else"s purposes: ideologies usually permeate everything produced by a culture or group, propaganda, institutionally sponsored persuasion aimed at the masses, characteristics. Institutionally sponsored: any body who has the ability to disseminate mass amounts of information, fundamental concern with effects, the whole point is to get something to happen, looking to implement desired outcomes, aimed at the masses. Individuals are critical thinkers, analyze information, not scared easily (cid:224) not aimed at them: groups tend to function through fear and basic movement together, mass media are the channels of choice, propaganda works only if it is everywhere, relies on ideology. It will express the ideology of those propagating but also resonate with the people: will leverage the groups ideology either positively or negatively, represses dissent, examples, red nightmare.
