Wallace"s wheel of research process: theory review of literature, hypothesis, observations, direct, indirect, surveys etc, generalization. Role of statistics: statistics are one of the most important means by which research and theory interact, quantitative research is impossible without statistics, permit us to analyze the data, and identify relationships and revise theories. Results with two variables: bivariate statistics indicate relationships between two variables that may exist due to co- variation or independence, co-variation is when two variables go together or are associated statistically. Bivariate tbale: a bivariate table presents the same information as a scatter gram but in a more condensed fashion, a table is ordinarily based on a cross tabulation of two variables at the same time, a contingency table. Comparisons are made in the opposite direction from that in which percentages are computed. Compare across if the table is percentage down, compare down in percentage across.
