Agreement with churchill: the world has massive injustice and exploitation, agrees that our social movements have no accomplished as much as we would have liked , both have a critique of capitalism and us role in the world system, agrees that pacifists are sometimes smug and pacifist, agrees that excluding arms struggle dogmatically doesn"t contribute to creating strategy. Jewish people were pacified which is not the same as being engaged in non violence: britain went on to maintain other colonies well past the independence in 1948, re: india, re: usa, people power can be more powerful than military power. The rationale behind nonviolence: society is like a house, foundation of the house is cooperation, compliance, everyday working within the system, roof is the state, if the foundation gives away then the roof will inevitably fall, this argument would not work for example, if you look at nazi germany.
