Adolescents" understanding of death logically understand death, but problems applying idea to their lives: how much do you think about death, it"s the last thing on your mind (social, hormonal, expansion growth and living are your primary thoughts, think we are beyond high risk activities (cid:224) you don"t look at snowboarding as a chance of death but as a fun activity, usually death is caused from unintentional injury, homicide, suicide and very sudden (no time to think) conversations with parents promote understanding. Discussing death with children and adolescents: take the lead listen perceptively acknowledge feelings provide facts: be culturally sensitive joint problem solving.
