What does a database contain? database: self describing collection of integrated records byte: character of data bytes are grouped into columns ex. Values in one table relate rows of that table to rows in a second table. Key: column or group of columns that identifies a unique row in a table will only appear once. Sometimes more than one column is needed to form a unique identifier ex table called city; (city, province) is needed because a city name can appear in more than one province.
