11: erikson"s stage theory of development, development is psychosocial: the person develops along paths expected by society. Development as a youth must meet expectations of schools/community. Later development in community, work, newly formed family: stages (1-5) rest are in adulthood. Trust basic mistrust, infancy infant explores securely or feels insecure/unsafe family. Autonomy shame/doubt, ages 2-3 toddler begins to control things around them, toilet training, feeding, etc. Initiative guilt, 5-7 years develop plans/goals within and outside the family; integrated within right and wrong family. Industry-inferiority becoming competent vs. feeling inertia grade school. No: infant communication: 6-10 weeks, social smile, 15-18 months: self recognition, self-awareness.
