Results in significant adverse consequences due to repeated use, such as failure to fulfill role obligations, engaging in physically dangerous situations, legal problems, social and interpersonal problems. Almost any mental effects can be brought on by family violence as the result of being under stress. However, the degree to which the problem impacts a person"s ability to function in their daily life impacts the importance of the problem.
