Lecture title: (we will finish up may 20th lecture) Introduction: youth identities are structured upon notions of age, gender, class and race, race is a central aprt of our identitiy. 7. verbal bullying: 10-15% of all students reported involecment in weekly verbal bullying. Approximately twice as many students reported being victims of verbal bullying than engaging in verbal bullying themselves. No significant difference sbetween girls and boys were found in this type of bullying: social bullying: students who engage in social bullying are not likely to get caught. Their harmful intentions are masked because the consquences cannot always be observed. Boundary events: the process of being named; acute awareness of ones difference, often completed through language; process of naming, othering". Symbolic and physical form of racist bullying: the media attention to this story was intense and constant, what was emphasized by the media was racism, but the girl-on-girl violence.
