It either uses the study of behavior, perceptions, thoughts and emotions. The other part uses the scientific method to deduce its hypothesis": using the past information, psychology can be defined as, the scientific study of behavior, thought, and experience. Scientific method : a way of learning about the world via collecting observations, proposing explanations for the observations, developing theories to explain them, and using the theories to make predictions, hypothesis: making predictions. Pseudoscience"s do not follow proper scientific methods and do not test their claims in any way scientifically to uphold them: theories: explaining phenomena. A theory is an explanation for a broad range of observations that also generates new hypotheses and integrates numerous findings into a coherent whole. Testing a hypothesis will always lead back to the original theory. Theories also have to be falsifiable so changes can be made to it. Theories are not the same thing as opinions or beliefs.
