Law of reason: god gave us our capacity for reason to aid us in the search for truth. Recognizing the responsibility to preserve the rights of all humankind naturally leads to tolerance, the notion that forms the basis for locke"s belief in the separation of church and state. Law government and freedom: law isn"t meant to restrain or abolish freedom it is meant to enlarge it, liberty = free from violence, laws are meant to show how much freedom an individual has. Tactic consent: declares man to be a subject of government, contradiction of how man may claim land and expect society to protect it, government has direct jurisdiction on land and reaches the possessor of it.
