Body temperature drops, slow heart rate, shallow breathing. Non-rem stage 3 theta and delta waves. Non-rem stage 4 delta waves; deepest sleep. Body growth occurs; disorientation occurs if awakened from this stage. Body temp. rises to almost waking temp.
