Faith plus reason first wrote a book, for the nonbelievers, tried to convince that christian theology was better. Suma theologia -> combine faith and scientific method; prove with reason. Heraclitus -> all things are in flux everything that moves must be moved by something else (newton"s idea?) The universe has: order & meaning, nomos & teleology, god intelligent design. St. thomas" answer: god created world like that and gave humans free will and intelligence, and allows humans to make moral choice. we know what"s good because we know what"s bad. We can say that we chose good by believing in god: god is testing our faith by causing natural disasters and such, god transcends all things. So when i think of god, i transcend all things god transcends my thoughts . St. thomas asks, what is the nature of the soul? the intellect is separate, that the body does not sure.
