CIS 1250 Lecture : Design in General and in Software.docx
Document Summary
Quiz 1-> september 24 first 3 chapters of subject to change. Main focus: system design is not artistic design. Design- 3 parts: plan, implementation- reveals design problems. In software, you have to change what is already written. (rewriting something that is already written to change something: interaction, the idea that the plan changes as you move through it. You may have to go back to the previous step because something may be wrong because it is not considered. Routine designs do exist for software: they are complicated, new designs are often found in game development. Original designs tend to be for new things. Waterfall model: system requirements, software requirements, analysis, program design, coding, testing, operations, used to develop systems better, sometimes you have to go back a step or two. Design by committee: problem- no one is responsible, requirements can bloat and creep- there is too many things in the system.
