Canaan"s kings: saul, david = greatest king but broke all 10 commandments. 10th century bce: conquers jerusalem, makes it his capital, has son solomon, solomon, builds temple, solomon dies, period of divided kingdoms. 12 tribes (of jacob) fall to fighting, 10 northern tribes split, form own country: assyrians destroy northern kingdom, 10 tribes never heard from again.
