As you move along the x axis, soil dryness decreases. Bio 2f03: graph showing temperature of air is very variable. Aquatic reed bed has variation too but less than air. Shallow riffle also has high variation but less than reed. Deep pool has least variation: changes that we detect in temperature of the globe is not that great to be considered permanent increase but think about the fact that we are turning on the heat . Look in textbook: can organisms optimize their physiology and growth for typical range of temperatures, we want to predict the consequences of warm temperatures on earth so we can know whats going on, specific adaptations. Bio 2f03: thermal regulation, no or poor regulation: poikilotherms, external sources of warmth: ectotherms, internal sources of warmth: endotherms, heat gains and losses: Metabolic heat is generated internally and is produced by all organisms. Conduction is direct transfer of heat from other things.
