Assimilation and accommodation is changing the process of cognitive. The glass was hit by a hammer, what would happen to the glass(it broke! ); gary hit a glass with a feather and glass broke. The glass was hit by a feather, what would happen? (nothing happened!) Law of floating body: given different objects with different sizes, composition, weight, and categorize whether they float or sink. Children don"t quite understand that they have to take account the density which is the combination of volume and weight and combine the gravitational force of the water. Between concrete operation and formal operations, the level of explanation is different. Concrete operation child tells, it sinks because its heavy and floats because its light which only applies single rule(properties).
