Four arguments for prohibition of female genital cutting (fgc) Many feminist writers have argued that sex work, pornography, and cosmetic surgery are oppressive to women. Yet it is not clear that all of these practices should be banned. (3) intentional infliction of injury. Fgc is different from cosmetic surgery in that it necessarily involves permanent injury or is very likely to do so. This is not true of most forms of cosmetic surgery. S&w: most forms of fgc involve injury, but so do many forms of cosmetic surgery.
