Attitude: an individual"s evaluation of a target along a god-bad dimension. Target can be object, issue, person, group, behaviour etc. Attitudes always have a target they are directed at something ie issues, ppl. By understanding where these attitudes come from and how they affect us, you can gain insight into the causes of your daily actions. Yes cuz they are gross -> forms futures attitudes. Targets the arouse negative feelings, charactistics & bad experiences -> generates bad attitudes. Targets that arouse positive feelings, characteristics & good experiences -> generates good attitudes. Past behaviours influce current attitudes and current attitudes influence future behaviour. Ppls feelings, beliefs and past actions toward a target are reasonable consistnet with one anther. Ambivalent attitudes: evlatiion of targets that include both positive and negative elements. Most ppl don"t this conflicting attitudes and the experience they report is unpleasant.
