MCS 2000 Chapter 13: Chapter 13 Business in a changing word notes
Document Summary
Proposals are written offers to solve problems, provide services, or sell equipment. Proposals usually tell how a problem can be solved, what procedure will be followed, who will do it, how long it will take, & how much it will cost. When proposals are written to request funding, they include info about how money will be spent, who will be involved, and who will benefit. When firms know what they want they prepare a rep, specifying their requirements. May be presented in short (2-4 page) letters. May contain 6 principle components: intro, background, proposal, staffing, budget & authorization request. Briefly explain the reasons for the proposal. To make more persuasive, add a hook. > hint at extraordinary results, promise low costs or speedy results etc. To conquer writers black, begin w/ a bulleted list of what the customer is looking for. Often a good idea to do the intro at the end.
