Document Summary

This question is asked to think about other theories. y sketch an image/have a broad view when you first meet someone. y are traits there from early environment or heredity. They have statements characterize the way things appear in the world. y building block of theory is a construct which is an explanatory variable. It is the relationship between two or more constructs. Some t explain more than other ts. y more comprehensive (c) t explain wider range of phenomena. y all things being equal, we prefer the theory that explains more to the theory y that explains less. It is not a requirement, a t can be useful even if its not c but we prefer t that are more c to less. y parsimonious (p) is the idea of simplicity, elegance or economy of theories. Some theories are complex and have large number of constructs. It s nice if a theory contributes to societal problems.
