Ethanol (14 c), larger flame, not as large as hexane. Most flammable chemicals will burn at temperature well below the flash point. Flammable chemical should be kept in appropriate cabinet. Flammable liquid produces vapour are often heavier than air. Vapour tends to flow along the surface of bench top/ floor. Vapour can be ignited if there is any ignition source nearby. In case of fire, turn off all gas valves close to you & yell fire . In case of fire alarm, turn off any electrical equipment you are using at the moment & leave the lab immediately using the closest exit. Ice instead of water is added to the flaks, followed by slow addition of acid.
