Break it down like the blood cell development. Select a model system, example, red blood cells. Sometimes there is a model of extreme cell differentiation, like rbc. Over 90% of proteins in that final cell is hemoglobin. The cell is packed with a protein that has a specific function. Another example today, the lens in the eye. The lens becomes packed with lens cell proteins. There are very high amounts of tissue specific protein. In the lens there is another protein that builds up in high concentration. A cross section of the eye showing where light comes in and where the retina is. Lens is at the front of the eye. The lens focuses the images/light to the back of the eye (retina). The lens must have optical properties to focus. You must develop specific proteins to do this. 80-90% of protein in mature lens cell is the crystallin protein gives optical properties.
