Document Summary

Explain, in general terms, how the earth s shape affects the intensity of solar radiation across latitudes. Define the three different types of biodiversity (species, community/ecological, genetic). Species - a group of populations in which the individuals are so closely related in structure , biochemistry and behaviour that they can successfully interbreed. Community -populations of all species that occupy the same area. Define (terms describing the hierarchy of life): biosphere, ecosystem, community, population, multicellular organism, and cell. Biosphere-all regions of earths crust waters and atmosphere that sustain life. Ecosystem-a group of biological communities interacting with their shared physical enviroment. Population - a group of organisms of one species that interbreed and live in the same place at the same time. Multicellular organism - individual consisting of interdependent cells. Cell-smallest unit with the capacity to live and reproduce. Use the terms species, individual and organism appropriately.
