Scientific thinking occurs across two levels: conceptual, operational : the experimental, measurement level, what instrument orr manipulation you use to reflect. Observation = operational level, self-esteem scale (responses to the scale) peoples authentic access to self-esteem. Construct validity, does it represent what you are trying to measure. Operationalization: is the process of taking one s pure theoretical construct, and figuring out how to represent it through some sort of measurement device. Every single scale you don t know what it really means (same as construct validity) Because for each item, you don t really know how well it actually reflects the construct you re trying to measure. Have to use multiple items of the same construct to see how they verge. It is very easy to make simple methological errors, and to draw conclusions that are highly problematic. Self-awareness has some relation to dopamine and serotonin. Lack of dopamine occurs when you feel like giving up.
